The International Conference on Experimental Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry (EMPG) took place from 16-20 June 2025 in Orléans, France. The conference is the largest gathering of experimental geoscientists in Europe and was attended by > 300 people this year. The conference is even attracting interest from around the world, with visitors from the USA, Australia and China.

This year, LUH was represented by a total of nine people from the petrology and geochemistry groups. In a total of three talks and five posters, the doctoral students and postdocs were able to present and discuss their current research. The meeting was also used for networking with other researchers and joint planning of future projects.

We would also like to congratulate Christian Singer, whose poster ‘A novel experimental approach to investigate element transport and isotope fractionation during fluid-melt interaction’ won the prize for one of the five best posters among the students!
