On 8 November 2025, the ‘Night of Science’ took place at the Leibniz University Hannover. We were represented by our team from the Digital Landscape Ecology Working Group at the Institute of Earth System Sciences, with support from the Physical Geography Working Group, with our topic:
Pollen in focus, urban greenery and health.
In addition to an information stand and information materials on the topics of pollen, allergies, urban nature and urbanisation, supported by the German Pollen Information Service, we offered a hands-on activity with questionnaires, maps, pollen identification analyses with microscopes and a pollen memory game for young and old. Experimenting with the microscopes and the pollen memory game were particularly well received by visitors.
