The new research project Climate Future Laboratory UMEX-HOPE at the Center for Climate Research Lower Saxony (ZKfN) is focused on researching the connections between urban microclimate and health. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Björn Maronga (Institute of Meteorology and Climatology), experts from various disciplines come together for the project. Prof. Nadja Kabisch (IESW) is one of the researchers contributing her expertise to the comprehensive analysis of the effects of urban climate adaptation measures. The project is going to provide valuable insights into urban climate adaptation and health risks in densely populated areas.
The Klima.Zukunftslabor is funded with five million euros by zukunft.niedersachsen, a science program of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation.
